Tearful Kelce retires after 13 NFL seasons

Jason Kelce announced his retirement on Monday, after 13 years with the Philadelphia Eagles. He did this while crying.

He played his whole career for Philadelphia and helped them win their first Super Bowl in 2018. They also made it to the NFL championship game again in 2023.

The Eagles picked Kelce in the sixth round of the 2011 draft. He is now thought to be one of the best centers in NFL history.

He cried at the beginning of a news conference and kept his eyes closed as he read a long story.

After the Eagles were eliminated from the playoffs last season, Kelce denied that he had chosen to quit in January. He said he needed time to think about his future.

He was picked for the Pro Bowl seven times, played in 205 games, and holds the club record for most straight starts.

He became a Philadelphia hero with an emotional speech at the city's 2018 Super Bowl parade, which took place on the steps made famous by the Rocky movies.

In 2023, the Eagles went back to the Super Bowl to play the Kansas City Chiefs. Travis Kelce played against his brother Travis.
